Africa has a rich history of struggles for freedom and liberty, from the fight against colonialism to the ongoing struggles for democratic governance, human rights, and economic development. Writing has played a crucial role in these struggles, from the works of pioneering African writers such as Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, to contemporary writers such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Helon Habila, and Taiye Selasi. Writing has the power to inform, inspire, and mobilize people towards a common goal, and the importance of writers in the quest for freedom and liberty cannot be overemphasized.
However, writing in Africa faces several challenges, including limited access to publishing opportunities, low literacy rates, censorship, and persecution of dissenting voices. These challenges not only limit the freedom of expression but also constrain the development of a vibrant and diverse literary culture that reflects the realities and aspirations of African people. To address these challenges and empower African writers to write on freedom-related issues with a libertarian perspective, we have launched the Liberty On Ink project.
The Liberty On Ink project aims to promote freedom and liberty through writing by empowering African writers to produce high-quality, engaging, and thought-provoking content on issues related to freedom, human rights, democracy, economic development, and social justice. The project will provide a platform for writers to share their works, connect with readers, and participate in literary and intellectual discussions on issues that matter to African societies.

The Liberty On Ink project represents a unique and timely initiative to promote freedom and liberty in Africa through writing. By empowering African writers to write on freedom-related issues with a libertarian perspective, we believe that the project will contribute to the development of a vibrant and diverse literary culture that reflects the aspirations and struggles of African people.
This project will also provide a platform for literary and intellectual discourse on issues that matter to African societies and promote diversity and inclusivity in African writing. We invite all African writers who share our vision of freedom and liberty to join us on this exciting journey of writing for change.
